Childrens Christmas 2008

Organized by Our Katrina Family in Need

Just a note
I wanted to take a moment and thank those who have been kind enough to consider helping my children this Christmas.

It means a great deal to us.

Thank you

&

Happy Holidays from our Family to yours!
What do they need?
Children grow so very fast.
Many of our belongings that were not ruined by the mold, are still packed up in storage, since Hurricane Katrina.

I go through it every once in a while as I have time. I have gotten rid of anything that may have the mold on it. I've had to throw out a good bit of our things, from clothes and bedding to all their children VHS tapes, since mold cannot be removed from them. We have recently changed to DVD so hopefully when the next hurricane comes through, we won't have to throw out everything they own.

I know they would be thrilled over some movies to watch, hoping I can replace some of the Disney movies with DVDs.

What they need is some good warm clothing and shoes.
I hope to have them some nice warm sweaters and they both need coats and gloves.

They just outgrow what they have so quickly. Most of the things left in storage I am sure they have already gotten to big for. Those will either go to the Salvation Army or to the local freecycle web.

They are just children, I would just like for them to enjoy their childhood rather than not.

Thanks for your Time!
Children's Christmas 2008
Greetings to All!

Thank you for stopping by. We are one of the many struggling hurricane Katrina families. When Katrina came through our area in Southern Mississippi there were so many others who were affected so much worse than we were although we have had our share.

However, since there were so many others who needed assistance and such a far distance to travel to find help, I just did not have the heart or gas to go for us. Unfortunately, our small area is not equipped with a great many resources.

I do work online from home as a freelance writer. I am open to writing assignment offers. I research and write constantly on a number of subjects. However, being a single mother is not so easy when raising two children.

The last few Christmas’s since hurricane Katrina have been hard on us and not so good for the children, especially in respect to having some of the things they need and hardly anything just for entertainment and joy.

It would mean a lot to them and to me to be able to give them a decent Christmas this year, if possible.

They miss good holidays. They grow so very fast. I would just like to be able give my children a happy Christmas rather than to see them sad or even crying because they do not really think Santa knows where they live any more.

If you find it in your heart to help make their Christmas this year better, I know we would all be very thankful.

I appreciate your time,

A concerned Mother of Two Angels
